October 2, 2007Keeping Badin's Music Families In Tune!
5th Grade Band
Additional lessons for 5th grade band members will begin next Tuesday from 3:30 until 5:30 in the Music Room. These lessons will allow students of particular instruments to receive instruction specific to their instruments, which will help them progress faster in their large-group instruction. The upcoming schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, October 9 – 5th Grade Flutes
Tuesday, October 16 – 5th Grade Reeds
Tuesday, October 23 – 5th Grade Percussion
Tuesday, October 30 – No Lessons
Tuesday, November 6 – 5th Grade Brass
Tuesday, November 13 – 5th Grade Flutes
Tuesday, November 20 – No Lessons
Tuesday, November 27 – 5th Grade Percussion
Tuesday, December 4 – 5th Grade Reeds
Tuesday, December 11 – 5th Grade Brass
Homecoming Parade & Game
This year's Homecoming Parade and Game will take place on Saturday, October 13. In addition to Ram Marching Band members, current non-marching Badin students, 6th-8th grade band members, and band alumni are also invited to participate.

The Homecoming Parade will begin at Hamilton Freshman School on Washington Blvd. Participants should meet at the school between 5:00 and 5:30 PM. Please arrange for drop-off transportation, as no parking will be available at HFS.

After the parade, all participants are invited to join the Ram Band in the Pregame performance, and to join the band in the stands of the east end-zone. During the 3rd quarter, pizza and drinks will be provided.

The "uniform" for the event is blue jeans, clean white or black sneakers, and a T-shirt that will be provided.

There will be a special rehearsal for this event on Thursday, October 11 from 6:30 until 8:00 in the Music Room.
Football Concessions
We are desperately short of volunteers for the concession stands for next Saturday's game and Senior Night as well. If we do not have enough volunteers, we will be forced to CLOSE a stand, which will mean not only less income for the Music Program, but also longer lines for the students' 3rd quarter breaks.
Please help!!
This Week's Schedule:
Tuesday: No Color Guard!!

Wednesday: Jazz Band 3:00 - 4:00 in Music Room

Thursday: Marching Band 3:00 - 4:15 starting outside

Friday: No Marching Band!
Football Update
Badin has climbed to #11 in the regional computer rankings thanks to their win over Purcell and Wyoming's continued success against top-ranked teams (Wyoming is 5-1, with their only loss at the hands of Badin). Although it is still likely that the team to win the GCL Central, it is very unlikely that the team will earn a playoff spot this year without a 4-0 finish and help from other teams.
